The On-Hand^™ Board Kanban CardView^® Board Systems

It warns operators of impending material shortages and overstocks. Post the bin number and important part information on color-coded Kanban cards. As full inventory bins arrive at the point of use, remove the Kanban card from the bin, place the card on the CardView^® visible On-Hand^™ board under the appropriate part number. As inventory bins are emptied, remove the Kanban card that matches the bin number from the board and put the card in the bin and move them to the restocking area.

Low inventory levels are designated by using red and yellow pocket edge tape to flag the pockets for each part number. Label the card pockets from the bottom using the red tape to show when inventory level is critical, and the yellow tape on the card pockets next above the red ones to show a low inventory level. The number of pockets you label depends on your inventory action level points. Load cards into the file from the bottom. Cards displayed above the colored pockets indicate OK inventory levels. Note: this system works well with the Next-Job^™ System board in your restocking work cells.
